Which nature experiences for you?
There is plenty of beautiful nature to see on the stretch between Ry and Himmelbjerget. There is a rich bird life on and along the water. There are lots of waterfowl in the area. You are sure to see herons, mallards and Grebes. With a bit of luck, we may even see the beautiful kingfisher flying by or a sea eagle soaring high in the sky above us. Along the way, you will also get some interesting information and funny anecdotes about the places we pass.
What do you need to know about the trip?
The tour starts at the Skimminghøj tent site in Ry and you come through Birksø and past Allinge out to Julsøen, where Himmelbjerget rises to its full height of 147 m. At Himmelbjerget we take a longer break. There will be time to climb the “mountain”. It is a 15 to 20 minute walk from the water up to the top with the tower. From here there is a fantastic view of the Søhøjlandet on all sides. It is here at the foot of Himmelbjerget that you will be served a light “wilderness lunch”. During the trip, there will be shorter breaks where you will have the opportunity to stretch your legs and have a cup of coffee to strengthen yourself.
